The German, after scoring the first two rounds, has hit a physical slump, as a result of his knee problemswhich cost him the game, with a score of 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3) and 6-3, in 3 hours and 29 minutes.

There are now 11 duels in eight days in which the winner has been able to come back and score the last three sets. It is a record figure in the history of the ‘major’ of grass.
