La young Kaitlin Quevedoa Canarian of American origin who has represented Spanish tennis since this season, won the title of IX CT Chamart�n Women’s International Tournament, ITF W15 category. In a Spanish final she beat Noelia Bouzo 6-3, 2-0 and retirement.
In the semifinals Bouzo defeated the German Carolina Kuhl (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) and Quevedo against the Italian junior Francesca Pace (6-3, 5-7, 6-2). For Quevedo, who on her way to the final beat the French Lene and Nguyen Tan, two of the favorites, it is tthird ITF title of the season, after those of Manacor y Sabadell. Others appear in his record of the conquered in their American stage. In total, 14 young Spanish tennis players took part in the event.
The IX International Women’s Tournament of CT Chamart�n is one of the events that are part of The Pyramid of Spanish Tennis, intended to provide avenues for growth and development, especially for the promises of our tennis. The CT Chamartín also hosts a men’s ITF at the end of the season.
Although this is the first edition of a tournament primarily for training, in a way this tournament also inherits the Chamartín’s professional tennis tradition, where both the ATP Madrid Grand Prix and the Women’s International Open were played. They passed along their tracks Arantxa S�nchez Vicario, M�nica Seles, Conchita Mart�nez, Iv�n Lendl, Stefan Edberg, Sergi Bruguera…
The tournament, directed by Lolo Pastrana, also the club’s sports director, featured Carolina Kuhl (409 WTA) and the French Emma It would be (477) as first favorites.
