Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian occupying forces in the eastern Donetsk region of having attacked vehicles of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
“Unfortunately, three people were killed in this Russian strike,” Zelensky wrote on X. Two people were injured in the attack, he said.
The Ukrainian president also published an image showing a Red Cross lorry up in flames.
“In this war, everything is absolutely clear — Russia sows evil, Ukraine defends life,” Zelensky wrote.
“The world must respond firmly and with principle. Countries and international organizations cannot remain indifferent. Only together can the world force Russia to stop this terror and make Moscow seek peace.”
In a separate post on X, Zelensky also accused Russia of having attacked a civilian cargo ship carrying wheat bound for Egypt in the Black Sea overnight after it left Ukrainian waters.
“Fortunately, there were no casualties, according to preliminary reports,” Zelensky wrote in English.
It was not possible to independently verify the claims.
