This Has To Be The Cheapest Batmobile On The Market

We’ve seen a lot of Batmobile builds over the years, from no-expenses-spared faithful replicas of movie versions to more budget-friendly options. But this one built in Italy using a Fiat 126’s engine and transmission has to be the cheapest one out there, as long as there isn’t a bidding war at the last minute.

Learn where the most famous movie and TV cars are now.

Patterned after the Michael Keaton Batman movies, nobody is going to mistake this Batmobile for one of the prop cars, but everyone will certainly recognize what it’s trying to be. After all, that general shape is iconic and recognized around the world, even if this car isn’t nearly as long or flamboyant as the Caped Crusader’s ride from the films.

What’s underneath the custom sculpted fiberglass body is a tubular frame which contains the water-cooled 652cc inline-twin and four-speed manual gearbox donated by a classic Fiat 126. That’s complimented by rack-and-pinion steering, coil-spring suspension, drum brakes, 10-inch steel wheels, plus an ignition button like on modern cars.

Sure, this thing won’t win any drag races, but that’s enough to have some fun while reliving some of your favorite Batman moments from the movies. With a current bid of just $900 with one day left to bid on Bring A Trailer, this thing could be a budget-friendly deal.

You’ll not the copious use of Batman insignias just in case anyone wasn’t clear what this car is all about. The cockpit is open, so you and a passenger can be in plain view, making this a great option for a cosplayer or someone who just really loves the Dark Knight.

One caveat for some buyers will be the fact this Italian-built Batmobile still resides in Italy, more specifically Florence. That means if you submit the winning bid, you’ll have to figure out transport. For the big Batman fan, that might prove only a minor inconvenience.
