At least eight people have been killed, including children, and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a former Gaza school building, the Palestinian civil defence said on Wednesday.
The Israeli army said the air force targeted a command centre of the militant organization Hamas inside the former school.
The military said that Hamas had used the building for planning and executing attacks on Israeli troops.
At least two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle in the southern Gaza Strip, according to medics.
Twelve more people were injured in the attack in Rafah, reported a doctor at the European Hospital in nearby Khan Younis.
An Israeli military spokesman said they were examining the reports.
According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, more than 41,270 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7. About a third of the dead are said to be children and adolescents under the age of 18. The authority generally does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
