The Quad Cities were quite fortunate today on this Friday afternoon to receive bright sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 50s.

However, that is going to be short lived as a cold arctic air mass is going to be moving down within a couple of days to bring brutal cold weather to the area.

By Sunday we will already be down into the single digits with overnight temperatures falling into the negatives.

On top of that, winds will also pick up bringing frigid wind chill temperatures that can drop as low as 20 below.

So, enjoy this weather while you can before the cold hits and make sure to bundle up to fight off the cold.
