Repubblica: Milan listed as ‘potential investment’ by Arabian Investment Ministry

Rumours and reports about Saudi Arabian interest in AC Milan have been on the rise in the past year, and today, there is a new lead about the possibility of investment from the Middle East.

It is no secret that Gerry Cardinale and RedBird have been looking to source funding to put towards Milan in the past year. There have been few limits to the potential too, with the American businessman not ruling out partnerships or sponsorships for the club, or a new stadium.

In recent months, though, the reports went a little quieter, or at least quieter than they had been at the start of 2024. Therefore, it came as a bit of a shock when a journalist made some bold claims about interest from Saudi Arabia regarding a potential purchase of the club.

Today, though, these claims have been strengthened by some news from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Investment, as La Repubblica (via Milan News) has published. The document is entitled ‘Potential Investments from the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia].

In the document, the Rossoneri are listed among other companies. Whilst there is no specification about the level of investment, or how the investment would be structured it is another concrete sign of interest from the Middle East.

Milan have not commented on the matter, and they likely won’t. Whether this will become anything more than interest also remains to be seen, after all, Saudi Arabian interest is not new.
