Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has offered assistance in reconstructing buildings in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv that were destroyed overnight in a heavy Russian airstrike.
“Lviv needs help! The target of the Russian attack was the city centre. Many old buildings were damaged,” Tusk posted on X.
The city has taken in many internally displaced Ukrainians.
Lviv lies just 70 kilometres from the Polish border and has in the past been part of Poland. It changed hands twice during World War II.
