The military wing of the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement has condemned the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and says Israel “will pay the price for its aggression.”
“[Haniyeh’s] assassination in the heart of the Iranian capital is a critical and dangerous incident that takes the battle to new dimensions and will have major repercussions on the entire region,” the al-Qaasam Brigades said in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “blinded by megalomania” and is leading Israel “towards the abyss and is speeding up its collapse and disappearance from the land of Palestine once and for all,” the statement said.
“The enemy will pay the price for its aggression with its blood in Gaza and the West Bank and within its distorted entity and in every place that the hands of the mujahedin of our people and nation reach.”
