The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the head of Hezbollah’s security unit, Nabil Kaouk, has been killed in a targeted strike by Israeli forces.

The IDF described Kaouk as the commander of Hezbollah’s preventative security unit and as a member of the Lebanese militia’s executive council. He had been “eliminated in a precise IDF strike,” it said in a post on X.

It added that Kaouk had been close to Hezbollah’s senior commanders and directly engaged in terrorist attacks on Israel since joining in the 1980s.

The IDF said it would continue to eliminate Hezbollah commanders. No details of the location of the strike or the method were provided.
