The Lebanese army has accused Israel of violating a ceasefire agreement several times since the deal took effect on Wednesday.

Israel “violated the agreement several times through air violations and targeting Lebanese territory with various weapons,” it said in a statement on the social media platform X.

It added that “the Army Command is following up on these violations in coordination with the relevant authorities,” though no further details were provided.

Earlier Thursday, the Israeli military said it had identified and “thwarted” a facility used by the Iran-allied Hezbollah militia to store rockets in southern Lebanon.

The 60-day ceasefire is designed to put an end to the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah that began more than one year ago in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 attacks.
