Mohammed Afif, the Hezbollah media spokesman killed in an Israeli airstrike over the weekend, was buried in the Lebanese coastal city of Sidon on Monday.
The time of the funeral was announced half an hour beforehand, and the ceremony was brief, presumably for fear of further Israeli air strikes.
Afif had come to the fore following the killing of the Hezbollah leadership in a series of Israeli strikes. He was one of the few publicly known faces of the Iran-backed militia.
Afif was seen as close to Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed at the end of September. He had led the media operations of the Shiite militia for years.
Afif died in an Israeli airstrike near the centre of Beirut on Sunday.
