Islamist militia Hamas has claimed responsibility for an attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, which left seven dead and 17 injured.
In a statement, the Palestinian terrorist organization from Gaza said that the two perpetrators from the city of Hebron in the Israeli-occupied West Bank were its members. At the same time, Hamas threatened further attacks.
The two men, who were shot dead by Israeli security forces, had killed their victims on a light railway and at a stop in Jaffa, the Arab-dominated district of the coastal metropolis.
One of them had an automatic rifle, the other a knife. Media reports said the victims were railway passengers and passers-by.
Israel has been waging war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year when the Islamists and its allies attacked southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 people.
