The Palestinian movement Hamas is celebrating the agreement with Israel on a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict as an achievement for the Palestinians.
“The ceasefire agreement is the result of the legendary resilience of our great Palestinian people and our courageous resistance in the Gaza Strip for more than 15 months,” the Islamist organization stated.
According to Qatar, the two warring parties have agreed on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of additional hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The ceasefire is set to begin on Sunday.
