Crate & Barrel, a US-headquartered home furnishing retailer, has partnered with financial technology platform Adyen to unify payment processes and enhance customer experience across its in-store and online platforms.
Adyen will serve as the payment processing partner for the retailer’s 110 physical retail stores and its online platform in the US and Canada.
The partnership covers both the Crate & Barrel and CB2 brands.
The move is part of a broader technology transformation to integrate its in-store and online experience to enhance Crate & Barrel’s omnichannel retail strategy.
The company sought a financial technology partner to implement connected customer experiences across all channels, a crucial step as it observes a balanced split between in-person and e-commerce transactions.
Crate & Barrel CEO Janet Hayes said: “This partnership enhances the shopping experience for Crate & Barrel and CB2 customers by quickly advancing our omnichannel strategy. As a result, our customers can enjoy a seamless shopping and payment experience any way they choose to shop with us.”
Adyen’s solution offers Crate & Barrel a consolidated view of all payment channels and transactions.
By integrating Adyen’s unified commerce solution, Crate & Barrel Holdings will gain insights into shopper behaviour and the customer journey, streamline operations and support digital advancement in the home furnishing sector.
This approach addresses the challenges of previously isolated information, allowing for innovation and adaptation to customer habits in both online and physical store environments.
Adyen North America president Davi Strazza said: “Our integrated platform provides the flexibility to create cross-channel payment journeys that customers expect, fosters deeper engagement through loyalty programmes, and connects data from all channels for more informed, data-driven decisions. We look forward to supporting Crate & Barrel Holding’s transformation through our innovative financial technology platform.”
