At least 11 civilians have died in Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian WAFA news agency reported on Saturday.
An unknown number of others had been injured in attacks on Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip and around Nuseirat in the centre, the report said. It came as talks on a ceasefire continued in Cairo.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they could make no comment without knowing precisely where people had died.
Since the current war began, following the October 7 attacks on Israel mounted by Gaza-based Palestinian Islamist Hamas members and others, the IDF has repeatedly accused Hamas of using civilians as shields for its operations.
The IDF also reported continuing fighting in the south, centre and north of Gaza.
On Friday, the IDF urged Gaza City residents in the north to evacuate to the west towards the sea after Israeli territory had come under rocket attack from the city. IDF troops had deployed to the area, killing combatants and destroying infrastructure, it said.
According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, more than 40,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the war began, and more than 90,000 have been injured. The ministry’s figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians.
The IDF claims to have killed at least 14,000 Palestinian combatants.
