Jeremy Trevithick, author of the last Spanish record with a race of practically 90 meters, has assured that the team leaves the game “with a good feeling. We expected Brazil to be a strong and physical team, but we have overcome it although with some mistakes that we have to correct. Tomorrow we face Hong Kong, a team with a level, with a lot of experience in 7s, but we are going to focus on ourselves and the key is going to be 100% and reducing errors.”
Paco Hernández agrees with the young sprinter: “We are happy. The important thing is to start the tournament in the way we have done. We had a very good, very solid first half, using our possessions well. Maybe we lacked a little defensive intensity, but it’s the first game and we already have four left, that’s what we have to think about. Monaco brings back very good memories for those of us who were here in 2016 so we hope to be able to remember that Olympic qualification on the same stage.”
