EThis 2024 season on the PGA Tour we are witnessing the best season a player has had since the years of great competition between Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh. Although we have since seen other golfers like McIlroy, Spieth, Thomas and Rahm set the bar very high, the level maintained by the current world number one has not been seen for a long time.
In fact, the situation is so unique that it catches our attention when Scheffler fails to achieve excellence, as happened on several holes during the third round of the Memorial. It was shocking to see him miss his tee shot and send the ball out of bounds on the ninth at Muirfield Village and make triple bogey. He had already made some mistakes and in fact closed the day with another bogey. However, he was able to play under par (71) and leave this Sunday with a lead of four strokes over Morikawa, Straka and Hadwin.

With a win, Scheffler would be the first to win five times in a season since Justin Thomas in 2016/17. Of course four strokes are recoverable, but probably not for the Texan, who currently steals the focus from all other golfers.
