Joel Moscatel, a golfer who does things well, won his first professional trophy with the victory in the Challenge of Spain, scoring for the second category of the DP World Tour, which concluded on Sunday at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla.
Moscatel, 25, a golfer who issued signals in Australia during the fall when he was seventh in the major division, in the PGA of that country, debuted in any of the professional divisions, where until now he only had a second place in the Giza, in Egypt, in 2022. He is trained by Alejandro Larrazbal, a Spanish golfer who played the Augusta Masters in 2003.
“I have no words to describe this victory,” he continued. “The putts weren’t going in, but I finally got it. Without a doubt, Alberto (Calvo)’s experience in the bag – a caddy with more than 20 years of experience on the circuit – has been of great help.”
Moscatel had started the day three strokes behind the Finnish Tapio Pulkannnen, whom he passed when on the 9th hole, a par 5, he hit the ball into the water and paid for it with a double bogey.
A fight began between the two then, which was defined on the final hole after a great approach from the Ilerdanse. On the Road to Mallorca, the entry route to the DP World Tour, Moscatel is now third.
