The Palestinian militant Hamas movement has mourned the death of allied Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, holding Israel responsible to what it called the “heinous crime and its dangerous repercussions” on regional stability.

The Islamist group renewed in a statement its “absolute solidarity” with Hezbollah after the pro-Iran Lebanese movement confirmed Nasrallah’s killing in an Israeli airstrike.

Yemen’s Iran-aliged Houthi group mourned Nasrallah’s death too.

“The inevitable consequence is victory and the disappearance of the Israeli enemy and its temporary entity,” the Houthi political bureau added in a statement, according to the group’s mouthpiece TV al-Masirah.

Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis are partners in a Tehran-led alliance, known as the “axis of resistance” that considers Israel an arch-foe.
