Regardless of a possible ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah militia, the mutual shelling between the two sides was continuing on Thursday.

The Israeli army reported that the western part of Galilee in northern Israel had been attacked with 45 missiles from Lebanon. Some of them were intercepted by the missile defence system, the rest fell in open areas, it said.

The news site ynet reported a rocket salvo on the city of Acre on the Mediterranean, with two people suffering shock.

Earlier, Israeli fighter jets had fired on targets in southern Lebanon. According to the army, the targets were “Hezbollah military sites, terrorists, and weapons storage facilities.”

During the night, the air force had attacked 75 “terror targets” in the south and north-east of Lebanon, according to the information provided.

More than 600 people have been killed in recent days in massive Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, according to the Lebanese authorities.
