Lufthansa on Monday extended its flight ban for Israel and Iran up to and including October 14 amid the tense security situation in the region.
The German airline announced that flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran would be cancelled during this period and that its aircraft would bypass Israeli and Iranian airspace.
Lufthansa’s flights to Beirut are to remain suspended as planned until October 26 inclusive.
The company said that it would continue to monitor the situation closely and assess it further in the coming days.
Passengers affected by the flights bans can rebook tickets for a later travel date free of charge or receive a full refund of their ticket price.
Lufthansa had already announced that it was suspending its flights to and from Israel and Tehran after the recent wave of explosions of pagers and two-way radios in Lebanon.
In addition to the main Lufthansa airline, the Lufthansa Group includes Swiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.
