Penn State Behrend has partnered with the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) based out of India to create new teaching and research opportunities at each school.
That agreement highlights what’s called a “2 + 2 program” meaning students at the Gandhi Institute can begin studies in India and finish their degrees at Penn State Behrend.

It centers around faculty, research and student exchanges.
“India is a growing country. In the next three to five years, we’ll have about a billion in population over the age of 13. We have an honest responsibility to give enough global opportunities to our students. This partnership will mean that we will have fantastic opportunities for our students to work with transnational education,” said Kens Acharya, provost chancellor, GITAM campus.

Behrend also said this partnership will create additional synergies with both universities and allow for significant growth.
