Iran’s armed forces have tested their air defences in a second major manoeuvre in recent days.

In the south-west of the country, the army practised tracking, pursuing and destroying targets, the Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday. Domestic radar systems were also used.

Military tensions with arch-enemy Israel in the past few months have led to growing concerns in Iran about a possible outbreak of war.

Israel’s government has repeatedly threatened to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities over fears that the Islamic Republic could seek to develop nuclear weapons.
