Carlos Alcaraz, world number two, is preparing his suitcases for his long stay in London, his next destination on the tennis calendar. After disconnecting for three days in Ibiza, just as he did last year, The brand new Roland Garros champion will leave this Saturday for the British capital.
Carlitos will repeat accommodation and has rented the same house next to Wimbledon where he will settle for the next four weeks. Regardless of his result at Queen’s (17th to 23rd), the tennis player plans to stay in London to adapt to the grass that gave him so much success last year. To accelerate the transition between dirt and grass he will have the help of his physical trainer, Alberto Lled�.
Alcaraz repeats the team for 2023 and at Queen’s he will be accompanied as coach by Samuel L�pez. Juan Carlos Ferrero will join the week before Wimbledon (July 1-14). The Murcian will be the first seed in the 500 category tournament where he defends the crown. The list of participants also highlights Grigor Dimitrov, Taylor Fritz and Holger Rune, among others.
Nadal, the precedent
Only Rafael Nadal was able to chain titles at Roland Garros, Queen’s and Wimbledon, with a change of surface included. It was in 2008. The El Palmar phenomenon faces this difficult challenge (19 straight victories) at just 21 years old.
