ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — The closing bell rang, and the final name was signed into the ‘Big Book’ at the Arctic League on Friday, capping off another successful year of bringing joy to thousands in Chemung County.

Officers from the Elmira Police Department were dressed in full uniform on Friday, Dec. 20, to deliver the final donation to the Arctic League by representing the Police Benevolent Association.

Members of the PBA came together to donate and present the Arctic League with a donation of $2,500, helping the Arctic League surpass its $175,000 goal. The donation from the EPD PBA equals the largest contribution ever received from the PBA and is tradition for the PBA to be the last signature in the book every year.
