Estonia is to supply Ukraine with further military aid in its fight against Russia, the Ministry of Defence in Tallinn announced on Saturday.

The Baltic republic’s government has decided to provide Ukraine with various types of ammunition, uniforms, surveillance devices and protective equipment, according to the ministry.

No further details were given on the scope or value of the aid package from Estonia, which is a member of NATO and the European Union.

The package has been put together from reserve stocks, taking into account the needs of Ukraine, without compromising Estonia’s defence capabilities, the ministry said.

“Soon 1,000 days will have passed in which Ukraine has managed to defend its freedom against an overpowering aggressor,” said Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur. “Ukraine still needs help from Estonia and the free world to protect itself.”

Ukraine has been fighting against Russia’s full-scale invasion for more than two and a half years with Western help.

Estonia, which borders Russia, is one of Ukraine’s staunchest supporters.
