Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy has called on foreign allies for more help with air defence after another week of what he said were more than 900 bombings.
“Last night, Russia terrorized Ukraine with over 50 strike drones, and over the past week, it has used more than 900 bombs, around 30 missiles, and nearly 500 “Shaheds” against various regions of Ukraine,” he said, adding that most targeted “civilian and critical infrastructure.”
“All of these attacks would have been impossible if we had sufficient support from the world in crucial areas: long-range capabilities for our security, truly effective sanctions to prevent Russia from importing critical components for drone and missile production—especially microelectronics—and political decisions that could ruin Russia’s will to wage this war,” Zelensky said.
“Ukraine deserves the same strong security as all our partners in the free world,” he posted on X, along with a video of extensive destruction in different parts of the country.
