Vard has secured a new contract with Navigare Capital Partners for a tailor-made newbuild commissioning service operations vessel (CSOV), marking the continuation of a partnership with Norwind Offshore.
The vessel, based on the VARD 4 19 design, is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2027 and will be constructed at Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam.
This contract represents the exercise of the first option from a previous agreement signed in March, reinforcing the ongoing collaboration.
The new CSOV will be the sixth such vessel VARD has delivered to Norwind Offshore and partners since October 2021, in addition to other specialised offshore vessels.
The parties have also agreed on two additional options, with the potential for further expansion in the future.
Designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, the VARD 4 19 is a platform optimised for offshore wind farm support, focusing on operational efficiency, safety, and crew comfort.
The 85m vessel, with a 19.5m beam, will feature a height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with an elevator system, a 3D crane, and a boat landing system adjustable for height.
Advanced battery solutions will also be installed to enhance the vessel’s sustainability profile.
The CSOV will accommodate 87 personnel, with a majority housed in single cabins.

Vard Electro’s SeaQ integrated bridge system will be installed to enhance navigational safety and operational efficiency, with a user-friendly interface and ergonomic design.
The vessel will also be equipped with Vard Electro’s SeaQ integrated automation system (IAS) and Energy Power Management System (ePMS) for optimal control of the hybrid system.
The SeaQ Green Pilot will provide a digital overview of the vessel’s energy consumption, aiding in environmental management.
Seaonics, a subsidiary of Vard, will contribute to the vessel’s environmental focus with an all-electric lift and handling package, including a 30-metre walk-to-work gangway and a 7-tonne 3D compensated crane.
Vard Interiors will provide modern interior solutions and environmentally friendly HVAC-R and piping systems.
