TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A northeast breeze has developed, and that helps keep it slightly drier over the next few days. There’s a 20% chance of a quick, passing shower this afternoon. The showers generally drift toward the Gulf of Mexico early this evening.

It stays quite warm through the weekend, but it won’t be overly humid. Highs stay in the low 90s with just 20% chances for rain each afternoon. Once again, the showers push toward the gulf in the evening.

The drier stretch of days continues through Tuesday, and highs stay in the low 90s.

Our long-range forecast is highly-dependent on what happens in the tropics. The potential system hasn’t formed yet, so the models can’t get a handle on it very well. Most models develop something in the western Caribbean early next week, and then it drifts north. A lot will change as the system forms, so stay tuned.
