He two-time Masters champion José María Olazábal will compete in the new Legends Tour tournament that will take place in Spain in 2024: the European Legends Cup that will be held at Golf Almerimar from September 13 to 15. The tournament has the support of the European Tour Group as part of its joint venture with the Legends Tour, and JGolf, with extensive experience in Challenge Tour tournaments, will be the organizer of the tournament in Andalusia.
Golf Almerimar is a 27-hole complex designed by nine-time Major winner Gary Player and opens its doors for the first time to an international tournament, hosting the European Legends Cup, a tournament that will bring together 60 players from the Legends Tour on the Almeria coast.
Keith Waters, Chief Operating Officer of the European Tour Group, has stated: “We are delighted to support the Legends Tour in the launch of the European Legends Cup, as we seek to increase gaming opportunities for Legends Tour members.
“The European Tour Group continues to work closely with Ryan Howsam and the Legends Tour team as part of our joint venture, as we did with the new Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy in Greece earlier this year, and we are looking forward to visiting the wonderful Golf Almerimar in September.

José María Olazábal, captain of the 2012 Ryder Cup and winner of the Masters in 1994 and 1999, has already confirmed his participation in the European Legends Cup and is excited to play in his country: “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to play more tournaments in Spain again, like in the ‘old days’ on the European Tour, sometimes there were up to eight tournaments in a season! “The players loved coming to compete in Spain for many reasons, the magnificent golf courses, the good weather and, of course, the gastronomy.”
